Exhaust Run Long Length
If I was to "exhaust" my 1580 (or a newer one if I can't get mine up and running with a new motor) to an outside wall...how far can I run the tubing? The outside wall is about 25 feet away?
25 feet is a long exhaust run. You can do it but the motor will run hotter due to back pressure. A hotter motor usually means a shorter life span. That said, a long run is not terrible uncommon.
Bad Bad Filter Switch in Electrolux?
I have a Lux Legacy with a similar problem to one you addressed previously. With a clean bag in, the unit starts up and immediately shuts off. If you hold down the bag switch it will stay on. You previously answered this problem as a bad bag switch. I wedged the switch down, put in a clean bag and the unit started and immediately shutdown. Therefore, it's not the switch.
I can't find a control diagram for this, but it appears to me that this is a bad differential pressure switch. With the slightest of pressure drop, even by a clean bag, the switch is cutting off the motor. But without a bag, not pressure drop and the motor will stay on. So, how easy is it to replace the pressure switch and is it still available?
Mark in Portland, Oregon
We recommend you replace the circuit board with our 235S board and not use the pressure switch. The board you have now will not let you do that. Also beware that a bad motor will exhibit some of the same issue you are experiencing (motor starts but quits).
Non-Recessed Supervalves Compatibility
Our Electrolux supervalves were made in the early 1990's. They do not have the trapezoidal recess in the faceplate where the 6 inch high voltage cord plugs in--the surface is flush. Can I somehow still use these new supervalves?
Harry, Pittsburgh, PA
Yes, you can replace your current Supervalves with the new Supervalves. The only issue you may encounter would be with the high voltage connections. Depending on the type of hose you have, you may be able to adjust where the high voltage prongs sit on the end of the hose to bypass this connection issue.

E130F Filter and Manual
I just purchased a home with a Centralux E130f system. I have no manual or any info on how to use the system. Does this system require a bag or just a filter? Having a hard time finding a manual online. Any help appreciated.
Ken from Owen Sound, Ontario
Congratulations on the home and central vac. This model has a single foam filter and we sell two versions of it. You can view both of these filters by clicking the following link: Filter for Centralux E130F
. Unfortunately, we do not have a manual but the system is quite easy to use, maintain, and understand. We have a page here to help you understand your Electrolux Central Vacuum
Electrolux 1580 Motor Replacement
Neville in Montreal. I have an Electrolux model 1580, serial # C01249A, 125V, 12.5Amps.
The mark on the bottom of the motor is GSE/Voorlas E51550.
Could you please tell me what is the replacement motor for this model.
Burnt Smell at Main Collection Tank
Our Centralux is 10 years old and today I noticed a burnt smell in the room, where it is located.
Does that mean the motor is going? If yes, what motor do I have to order for Model E130G ?
No Suction at Inlets
I have a CentraLUX central vacuum which was running very well. The unit motor seems to run fine but there is no suction from any of the outlets in the house or where the unit is mounted in the wall. Can you advise what the problem may be. Thanks.
Canada Help and Parts
I have an Electrolux Central Vacuum system that I just love. It is about 22 years old. I've noticed lately that it screams loudly when I use it. From what I have read hear, it sounds like the motor is going. Is this correct? It shows Model#1590 and Serial number# C118667B LF2 Volts 120 Amps 13.0 HZ 60. I live in Canada.
Yes, that is correct. If the noise is coming from the tank then it is your motor. You can use it until it smells burnt or just gives out. Replacing the motor is not difficult and we have excellent shipping to Canada. Please see our Electrolux Motor Replacement Page
for help, parts and sales.
GFI Outlet and Central Vacuums
After running flawlessly for 2 years, my CentrLux Aerus, model E130J, serial M06265W has begun tripping the GFI outlet. I ran a seperate line to the vac (with a GFI outlet) and it continues to trip.
Could the brushes be going bad to create this problem? Thanks ..........John Thomas
Yes, the brushes could be going bad. However it is good pratice not to run a central vacuum on a GFI. They are only 15 amps. It is best to have it on a 20 amp alone. Remember that if anything else is ran on the GFI, or other GFI's in the home, it will surely trip if the vacuum is on as well.
Lights On But Motor Not Working
When I plug in my Electrolux tank vac the power supply light lights up and nothing else happens.
A time or two in the past the vac would quit and do this if I was using it a lot. But it only had to set up to
5 minutes to turn back on again and work just great. Now it won't do anything when I turn it on.
Colleen Loa, UT
That would be a bad motor. Use your model number to cross reference the replacement on the motor replacement page for Beam, or contact your local dealer.
Power to Brush is Out
My central vacuum system runs normally but the power to the brush won't start. What is the problem? Peter from Vancouver
There are a couple of failure points in the hose for electricity. On the wall end, the cord or two pin plug has a diode that can fail. You can't replace the diode and have to continuity test for diagnosis. In the handle there is a switch that can go bad, and there are some other connection points that rarely go bad. Here are videos that can help http://builtinvacuum.com/hoses/electrichoses-tech.html
I would like to know how to remove & clean the filter on model 1590. My employer just moved into a house with this model. There is no manual & I pulled about 3 inches
of dirt off the filter.
Thank you for your time.
Jane from Martintown , Ont.
The vacuum unit separates around the middle and the lower bucket part drops off. Empty this into a plastic bag to cut down the dust. There will be a filter attached to the upper part. It is removed by undoing the latching mechanism on the bottom of it. Clean the filter with soap and water or replace it with a new one. If you wash it allow it to completely dry before installing. Use the information on this page for additional help or troubleshooting. http://builtinvacuum.com/help/electrolux.html
Exhaust Odor Solved
My 6500 sr smells when we use it. The exhaust smells like the dog even though no hair evident in the hose or intake. How do I fix it, tried new filter but didn't help, only gets better when a completely empty bag is used but once anything gets in there it starts to stink again
Spray Lysol on paper towels and suck them through the hose. Let them sit in the unit. This will help disinfect and deoderize.
Vacuum Head Cycle On/Off
Jan; Anchorage, AK
Electrolux Epic 6500sr: The carpet power head goes on and off repeatedly, in quick succession, while in use (the main unit runs fine). All other attachments work fine. Could a bad reset button be the cause? If so, can you assist in finding a replacement? Thank you!
Actually sounds like a short or a motor going bad. We suggest taking it into a traditional vac shop for repair.
Electrolux No Suction
I have an electrolux Gazelle model no Z4733 and dont have any suction, we have replaced the drive belt and cleaned the filter, and the hose is not blocked
Electrolux E130G Attachment Kit
I am looking for a kit that comes with hose, vacuum etc. for a Centralux, Electrolux E130G
Electrolux 6500 Shuts Off
How can I fix my electrolux epic 6500 SR vacuum?
My vacuum shuts off saying the bag is full when it is not. It runs fine with the hose off but as soon as you put the hose on it shuts off again.
You may have a clog in the hose that is tripping a safety in the main unit. The unit has ample air flow without the hose, but when attached it blocks the air. Another issue may be the circuit board in the system or a faulty bag sensor. Contact a local dealer for an inspection at http://builtinvacuum.com/dealers.html
Can A Filter Be Washed?
Can the large, blue filter be hand washed and reinstalled when thoroughly dry?
Yes, the foam filters can be washed and reinstalled when dry.
Low Voltage Measured At Inlet
I have Electrolux E130A which does not turn on at the direct low voltage hose switch. It used to work fine for more than 9 years. The low voltage measured at the unit outlet is far below 24VDC (I measured around 2VDC) and if I shorten it at the unit the motor turns on.
Does it mean I need to replace the board? Is the low voltage outlet supposed to give 24VDC or 24VAC?
The relay and the transformer in my unit are soldered on the circuit board...
That low of voltage will not be able to work with your hose. A quick comparison of the measurement at each inlet and right at the unit itself will let you know if there is a problem with the wires or the unit. A low measurement right at the unit will tell you that you need a new circuit board. If it is strong there but low at the inlets, then there is a break in the wires somewhere that needs to be repaired.
Centralux E130F Stopped Working
Question: I have a Aerus Centralux model E130F central vac system. I was using the unit and it just stopped working? I checked the circuit breaker and it was not tripped. I pushed in the white reset button on the motor and still nothing? Do you have any suggestions as to what I might try to fix the unit? Could it be the motor? Thank you, Scott S.
This could be a problem with the hose not activating the unit, or a bad motor not turning on. Follow our troubleshooting guide to do some quick tests on the system to determine where the problem is and what to do to fix, http://builtinvacuum.com/education/troubleshoot.html
Electrolux Bag Sensor
Hi. I'm Tom from Staten Island. I have an Electrolux Epic Series 6500 SR and it stopped working indicatin the bag was full. I replaced the bag and filter with Model C Aerus bag and the unit started but then immediately stopped with an indication that the bag was full again. I tried a second, brand new bag. Same result. I opened the door, took out the bag and held down the button/switch by hand and the motor ran fine all while I held the switch down by hand even when there was no bag in the chamber. I put the new bag back in, started it and held the button/switch down by hand and it ran but as soon as I let go of the switch and the cardboard front on the bag pressed on the switch, it stopped immediately with an indication that the bag is full. Could you please help me? Thank you.
You may just have a bad switch on the unit that won't stay in enough to allow the unit to run. You can try contacting Electrolux at www.electroluxusa.com
to verify and see if replacement parts are available.

Electrolux 1580 Replacement Motor
My electrlux Central vacuum cleaner stopped working the other day. I heear click when I plug in the vacuum hose in to the wall but the motor does not move. I assume the motor is gone. The details on the vacuum are model 1580 serial C-18535- A ( then it looks like LB3 in hand writing) volts 120 amps 13.0 Hz 60. Can I order a replacement motor on line i\"m in norhtern Ontario Canada where should i order from?
Electrolux Model 1590 Reset Breaker Popping
The mini Breaker switch on my central vac unit 9 Electrolux model 1590)pops out as soon I turn the unit on.
Any suggestions please?
Most likely this is due to a faulty motor, and it will need to be replaced.
Aerus E130F With No Power
Jon from Sioux Falls, SD. What is the approximate age of the Aerus Model E130F? I am guessing its probably original to my home...1990? It was working great, next time I went to use it...nothing. I ordered a new hose, filter etc. from you thinking they may be the culprit...I got them yesterday, and still no luck. I replaced the connectors on the low voltage wire as they were a bit loose and nothing. Is it worth repairing or just replace the unit with one of your Silent Master units? Thank you.
Exhaust or Convert to Bagged System?
I have an Electrolux 1590. It came with the house but I never use it because it exhausts in to the basement and creates all kinds of dust. Is it possible to convert this model in to a bagged central vacuum?
Brigitte - Churchville, MD
It is not possible to convert. But it is possible to exhaust to the outdoors. Does that room have a wall to the outdoors?
Where can I locate a new reset switch for an Electrolux model # E130A.
Rich Long Beach Ca.
If you are looking for the minibreaker on the main unit in the garage or basement then you actually need a new circuit board. We have that for a fraction of what Electrolux sells them for. Here it is and please do not use the yellow wire, just ignore the sensor near the filter or the unit will always run. http://builtinvacuum.com/retail/shopretail.php?part_no=235S
1590 v120/13A/60H Motor

Given the above what motor should i buy ?
Reset Button Pops after New Motor
I have a 1590 Electrolux vacuum. The motor was replaced and now the reset button pops after 15 minutes use. You push reset in and units runs again then reset pops after another 10-15 minutes. Do I need new Board?
Yes, you need a new board. Our part number 235S. Be sure you do not use the yellow wires on the board. You will not be hooking up the sensor near the motor that verifies the filter is in place. If you do the unit will always run. Just ignore that fuction and let the wires on the board just sits in space.
Have to Uplug Main Unit
I have an Electrolux Central Vacuum Model 1590. We just moved into a new house and the vacum was working great. Then all of a sudden, one time I was using the vacuum and the unit stayed just stauyed on. Now, the only way to turn it off is if we unplug the vacuum. Is it the circuit board? Thanks, Danny
First, congratulations on the home and central vac! Disconnect the wire lead at the vacuum unit and see if it turns on without the low voltage lead connected. If it stays on then replace the board with our part #235S. If it doesn't then you have a short somewhere.
Starting Up by Itself
I have a Electrolux E117A,early this morning my wife said there was a noise in the garage, I openned the door and the central vacuum canister was running on it's own.I felt it has was warm, indicating that it had been running for a while. I unplug it and then plug it in again, and it started own it's own. I then unplugged again, remove filter, clean and place back. It didn't start running, so I got the hose plugged in a started to vacuum. I tured it off (in the house) but to my surprize it started up again in the garage. Does it require a new motor? It's a bout 23 years old.

Smells Like Cigarette Smoke
Epic 6500 Smells
I have an Epic 6500 I got it from my mom she smokes and the vacuum still smells of stale smoke, I have tried changing the filter and it does not help. Do you know what I can do to get the smell out of the vacuum
Hi, remove the filter and spray the interior of the unit and filter with Lysol. Let everything dry and put it back together. That should do it.
Electrolux 1590 Replacement Motor
I have a electrolux model 1590 central vac.Where would I find the motor model number as you have 2 models available.
Electrolux Model 1584 Replacement Bags
I have an Electrolux model 1584 central vac that is 11 years old. I'm looking for vacuum/filter bags that will fit this model. In the past, I've used AERUS 43-441. Please advise!
We have Centralux By Aerus serial no J43896G. Motor is very loud, how can we make the sound low so we can vacuum while somebody sitting in garage? Dawn H
Hi, the motors are very loud. A muffler will help a bit and a new motor when the old one passes. Or you can buy a different unit such as SilentMaster. It connects to the system as is.
Parts for Electrolux 4580 Central Vacuum
My paper work when I bought the central vacuum, says model Electrolux 4580 distinctly, and also I bought one for my daughters house in 2001, and her's is also model 4580 on the paper work. On the outside of the vacuum the plate it states model E130A - 120 volts. The motor is burned out, so I need to replace it.
Hi, the key identifier is the E130A, not the 4580. We have the replacement motor and a circuit board for that model here http://builtinvacuum.com/help/electrolux/motor.html
. We also have complete attachment kits and accessories that fit those kits. Usually the hose with your system was not industry standard, however your wall ports always are so you can use any new hose or complete new hose and tool kit.
Loud Motor - Help or Die?
I have an Electrolux ECV1590A and the motor has become very loud and high pitched (like a bearing needs lubricated). Is there anything I can do about this or is motor failure pending? Mike, Boise.
Motor or Circuit Board?
Electrolux 1590 Motor: The motor would kick on and off when I unplug it before shutting down. Now it has tripped the house breaker and won't stay running. Do I need a new motor or circuit board? Bob
Hi Bob, sounds like you need a motor. Slap the unit, if the motor starts when it was dead instead of supposed to be working then it is the motor. Also, if all you hear is a click when trying to start it then it is the motor that needs replacing.
New to Central Vac
I just rented a house with a central vac unit Electrolux/Aerus Model #1590. Does this unit need filter bags and how do I find an instruction manual?
Are there any more attachments available? I have the floor and stair tool? I would like to use this unit but not sure what I am doing and don't want to ruin it.
Hi, you will love using a central vac. Though they seem complicated they are really quite simple and easy to update and work with. Your unit is filtered with only a foam filter (#730EXF). The only maintenance it needs is dumping the bucket from below and banging out the filter (or washing it and letting it completely dry). The wall ports inside the home are industry standard. That means you can use any hose sold here, along with any accessories, and any complete hose and tool kit. If your current hose clip-locks into the accessories then it is not a standard hose. We suggest buying any new complete kit so you have a hose and accessories together. Start here http://builtinvacuum.com/help/electrolux/kits.html
. The kits are in order of cleanability. Let us know if you have any questions.
Cutting Off and On
I have an electrolux 2000. It keeps cutting off and on. Could it be the motor and will it be easy to repalce if it is?
Hi, without much more information it is hard to tell you want it is exactly. If it was the motor then yes it can be replaced with a new one we have. Please call us when you are with the vacuum so we can troubleshoot it with you.
Circuit Board for Model 1590 and Others
need a new relay/circuit board for electrolux central vac #1590. is it available?
Hi, this is the replacement many customers are using. For the price and quality you can't beat it. See the diagram link way down below and read some other posts for help. The solution is the same for all Electrolux Central Vacuum Models.
Electrolux 1584 Motor?
I have a Electrolux vaccuum #1584. The suddenly it stopped wotking, I turned it on from the Canister and saw sparks, may be the Motor is Gone.
Can you quote me the exact cost of the Motor assembly and what ever else is needed, with Shipping cost and delivery time. Location is Brampton, ON Canada.
Do you think that it's easy t replace this motor
do you think some other part also needed to be replaced.
Brampton, ON Canada
Hi Farhan, the relay board is fine. It is the motor that needs replacing. See the motors section on this link http://builtinvacuum.com/help/electrolux/motor.html
for the replacement motors that Electrolux used. There are really only two types and easily differentiated by their height. Choose the one with your motor height and put it in your cart to get the Postal and UPS freight quotes. It is quite easy to replace.
Electrolux 1590 central vac - brush runs but not the vacuum. Where is the fuse how to replace it?
Hi, we put together a step-by-step guide to nailing down these problems and providing a solution. Please use the guide at www.builtinvacuum.com/flowchrt.html
and let us know if you need further help or parts.
I have a Lux N1378 Part, To My Central Vacuum, however the part does not work anymore because the wiring has been torn, Ive tried fixing it but nothing has worked. Can you supply this part? Thank You. Lakhveer
Sorry, we do not know what that part is. Please call to discuss.
Motor Starts When I Bang On The Canister
I have an electrolux model 1590 central vacuum. The motor stopped running but when you bang on the motor housing it starts to run. Any idea on what the problem may be?
This indicates the motor needs to be replaced. It has used up its 800-900 work hours and the carbon brushes are not making good contact with the armature in the motor. If the motor is not too old (used less than 600 hours) you may be able to replace the motor brushes. Search our site with the replacement motor 11XXXX number to find the brushes.
Electrolux Vacuum E117A Motor?
We have an Electrolux Central vacuum model # E117A. What would be the model number of the replacement motor?
Hi, yes the 116765 motor is the correct replacement. It is instock, brand new, and quite easy to install. If you have more questions please let us know.
Stopped Working Again
We have an ECV 1590 A electrolux central vac. 12 yrs. old. My husband cleaned the filter & afterwards he turned it on & it worked fine. Two days later when I tried, nothing happened. It will not work at all. I replaced the hose because it had cuts in it that I had duct taped! Still wont work. Is this a motor problem?
Hi Mindy, most likely the motor will not come on because it is going bad. Slap the unit and it will probably work again. If so, it is time to replace the motor. That is not difficult and we have your motor is stock. http://builtinvacuum.com/help/electrolux/motor.html
Vacuum Shuts Itself Off

6600-001 Replacement Motor
Need to order a replacement motor for Electrolux E130A 120v central vac., last replacement motor label is 6600-001

From Lamont Electric
We have an Electrolux 4580 and it is suffering motor problems (significantly decreased air-flow) and is showing major sparks inside its housing... time to replace it.
What motor do I need to purchase for the replacement?
Yes, you need a new motor but that doesn't sound like a built-in central vacuum. We deal with centrals, sorry.
Click but No Suction
I have a Centralux E130F, 12.0 amps, AERUS, Class 2, non-wet. 120v/60hz. When we insert hose into wall, motor unit has Click Click noise, then nothing. I opened the top motor compartment, I noticed a relay with wires. Do you sell that replacement part? Can you advise what options I have? Thank you, Tom Giuliante
Plastic Snap Together - NOT HAPPY
Hello, my name is Gene an I have these dumb snap together plastic wands that go to my power head for the electrolux and they don't work anymore. Can I get replacement wands or should I get all new? Thanks
Hello, we understand your frustration and, as many complain about, their weakness. You can simply replace the entire hose and tool kit with one of these new ones www.builtinvacuum.com/electricpowered.html
. They fit right into your system without any changes and are industry standard which means you can use all the accessories you see on this website. Oh, and the wands will not bug you any longer!
we have a electolux central vac. There is little to no suction at each hole. The main unit runs and the motor was replaced recently. When you put your hand over the hose you can get a bit more suction, otherwise there is none. What do you think it could be?
Plastic Cone Needed for Filtration

Motor for 1521?
Electrolux model 1521, motor was studdering, armatures was burnt, do you still make replace motors for this vacumm and if so what is the Part number and cost Thank You
Yes, we are confident that we have the motor for the model 1521 but we need your help to nail it down. Would you mind sending us a photo of the motor for review? Thanks.
Model 1590 Bags?
I have an Electrolux Model 1590 that we finally installed. There were no bags included when we unpacked the vacuum. What bags should we get? Karin MI
Hello, actually no bags are used with that model. There is a foam filter below the motor that needs cleaning several times a year (water is okay, reinstall only fully dry). Simply unlatch the bottom of the unit and dump the debris. You may want to do it within a trash bag to minimize dust.
Unit Runs, even without Low Voltage Connection
have a cv3291 afuera and wont stop running ...checked inlets and seem to be good..unplugged low voltage wires from unit in garage and still runs. Only way to turn off is unplugged from outlet...
Hello, sounds like you need a new circuit board. Our #235S is used by many in your situation. It is made by the same manufacturer but may require a little modification to put in. But for the price you can't beat it.
Runs without Low Voltage Wire
i have electrolux aufera and stays running. unplugged low voltage wires from unit an still runs. wondering if wires are disconnected from unit and still runs that mean its the relay or will it still run if one of the outlets is bad. thank you craig hutchinson
Hello, the relay is bad and is probably on a circuit board. You can contact Electrolux or use our #235S (for cost savings but may require some modification to fit).
Bags for Afuera?
need replacement bags for afuera central vac model cv3291
Hello, we are not aware that Afuera took bags. What model do you have. We show they take a foam or pleated filter.
i have a electrolux epic 6500 model. the motor bearings went out. i ordered a new motor. it took more than three weeks to get here so needless to say i've forgot which wire goes where can you help me? Duane, Rice Wa.
Filter Removal and No Suction
I have a Centralux by Aerus central vac and I'm not sure how to take the filter out or how to clean it. I can't find instructions in the manual. Also, the powerhead works fine when I turn it on, but when I put the crevice tool on, there was no power at all. Could this be because the filter needs cleaning?
Hello Loretta, usually customers think the suction is on when they hear the power nozzle but it actually isn't on because it is not turning on when the nozzle is not being used. Basically the noise makes you think the suction is working. The vacuum is just picking up debris and packing it into itself. So you have two issues. First the suction, which you can trouble shoot here www.builtinvacuum.com/flowchrt.html
. The other is the filter. The filter sits in the middle of the can and you take it out after you remove the bottom bucket and unclip the bottom of the filter or twist the entire thing.
Motor Replacement for Electrolux
I need to purchase a replacement motor for an electrolux central vacuum purchased in the u.s. circa 1998. The number on the bottom of the motor is 660_1 ECV B-9ECP. 60 HZ 120 VAC. Please indicate which motor I need and the cost.
The motor must be a 116795 or 119631 for the replacement. Use the measurements of the motor's detail page from the links here to figure it out. If you want, call me when you are with the motor and I will help you do it.http://builtinvacuum.com/help/electrolux.html#motors
Will Not Work - Motor Not On
Donna, Albany Oregon
I desperately NEED my central vac back in service!!!!
I have an Electrolux Central Vac from 1998... in 2004 it wouldn't shut off so my husband pulled the low voltage from the side.
Now...2007 I've replaced the low voltage clips and reattached them...but the reset will not trigger. I have no power event though the unit is plugged into power????
1) Continuous running: Circut
2) Low Voltage Wiring?
3) Motor Issue?
Do you have a diagram that addresses the reset button?
Hello Donna, sounds like you need a new motor. If the reset will not stay in AND especially if when you try to start it you hear a click then you need a new motor. Please test and let us know what you find.

6600-1 Motor Replacement
I am a proud owner of the Centralux, and I think I need a new motor. the label said 6600-1 ECV B-9 ECP 60 HZ 120 VAC. My question is what motor do I need & would you think I should get a new board? Any help would be appreciated.
Circuit Board and Diagram
I have an Aerus Central Vac unit that needs a new motor circuit board. The unit model number is E130G, and the board has a model number MC-2XA 483 on it. Can you supply this part?
Suction Stays On
I have a Centralux E130F. it is about 4 years old. everything was working fine until one day last week, it would not shut off. the switch on the hose no longer worked. is it the switch? or something else? the only way to shut it off is to pull the plug where the canister plugs into the wall.
780023 Filter Replacement
I have an Air Vac central vac system, model VM212. Presently it has a pleated filter 6 1/2" diameter X 8" deep protected by metal screening (Part number 780023, sku #7 27066 04775 5) covered with a 1" thick foam filter. Is it possible to find replacement parts for this combination of filters?
Alternately, I could use the 8" x 8" foam filter. Would this work as well as what I am presently using?
We have been selling the 8x8 inch foam for the VM212 for many years without any issues. The combination you speak of should be no different. We know that Electrolux was changing back and forth to different types of filtration and that they are interchangeable.

I have been searching for an answer to the problem of the carbon dust emissions from our Electrolux Central Vac. Not only is it unhealthy, but it leaves a film on the walls, cabinets etc. in our laundry room where the unit is installed. I found your blog on "Eliminating Harmful Central Vacuum Carbon Dust Emissions" and was relieved to hear that this indeed is a problem with some motors. You then offered two solutions; one being the Silent Master Model SR. Will the Silent Master Model SR motor fit our Electrolux - Model no. 1590? If it will fit, is it available in Canada? Norma
The SR replacement is the entire unit (all brands that don't deal well with carbon dust, and most don't) and yes, you would hand the new unit on your wall and us the existing tubing and wire. This one of a kind vacuum motor has no carbon brushes and is longer lasting than tradition carbon brush motors in all central vacuums. It is "expensive" though. Yes, we can send it to Canada, please call us for more information, it is not available online.
Foam - Blue or Yellow, or Cartridge Filter
I have a Electrolux Model 1590 central vac... I need a new foam filter. My old one is light in color and measures approximately 4 inches across and may 6 inches high and fits snugly. The dealer has a foam filter at least 2x the size of my original. It is blue and the dealer insists it is made for and will fit (by forcing it) where the old filter fit. Are you aware of this new foam filter and does it, in fact, fit (can it be forced into the area)
We commonly sell a 6X6 inch filter for Electrolux. It can also take the blue ridged one or a paper pleated one. The foam ones can be forced on with the washer at the bottom but that is not ideal.
I have a Electrolux 1590 about 14 year old and it is not sucking. The filter is clean hoses and I have two are not blocked. Let me ask a stupid ? at the bottom of the muffler unit on the side should the bottom have a cap on it? mine does not you just feel strong air pouring out when unit is on. Should this be capped and that is the problem? I am stumped.
Shuts Off - Why?
My electrolux sweeper shuts off even with an empty bag in it as if it was full...I have not found any thing plugged up or blocking the hose. What could be wrong?
Sounds like your vacuum motor is going bad.
Will Not Start for a While
I have Centralux Model E130A. After using the vacuum for a period of time and switching it off, we are unable to restart.. Sometimes the house electrical circuit breaker is popped, sometimes it starts up later. I've seen mention of the "circuit board" or possibly the "motor" being the culprit. What do you believe is the problem? Which parts would you recommend? Thanks.
Low Voltage Wires Connection
Our Electrolux model 1590 worked for a few minutes after we bought the house and then quit. I have cleaned the filter & emptied the canister. The low voltage wires don't seem to connect to the canister. Where do they plug into the canister? Bill
They connect on the side of the top part of the vacuum unit. There are two connectors for two wires.
There is no suction through the hose from any of the outlets. We put a snake through the hose and it's clear. How do we trouble-shoot and fix from here? Can we open the pvc piping?
I have a 14 year old Electrolux Centralux E130A system. The motor runs fine but there is only about 1/2 the amount of suction we used to get. I labeled 5 Styrofoam balls and put them in each inlet and all five made it to the tank so there are no obstructions. I have a new filter. I replaced the motor but it didn't change anything. I have take the intake line from the home off the unit, turn the unit on and the suction there is strong. What else could be causing the low suction. I hate to toss this system when it used to work so well.
Did you run the balls through the hose? Most clogs are in the hose. Also, do a pressure check for any broken pipes. Basically put your hand over the hose while it is running. You should hear the vacuum rev up higher, like going into overdrive, if you have a completely sealed system.
Turns On/Off Rapidly
I have an E130 Centralux that is about 4 years old. After it has been running a few minutes, it begins turning itself on and off, about as fast as you could turn the switch on and off on the hose control. It is not the hose or switches (brand new stealth setup I bought from you that is awesome!). It does the same thing when I jump the 24 volt switch on the outside of the unit. I am guessing it is either the circuit board or motor, but I would expect the motor to stay off for a while if it were overheating, any ideas? Thanks
Electrolux 1205 Motor
I have an Electrolux model 1205 (over 30 years old). The motor in the main canister is tired. Can I get a new one? How much will it cost?
Wow, that is an old one. I am sure you can find the motor and we can help. Please call us when you are at the motor and we can walk you through the measurements and descriptions we need to determine what motor it is.
Replace 062890-0396-3480-11 Motor on Model 1590
Info was taken from unit,(motor), older Utah home.
Central vacuum cleaner/model 1590
volts:120 amps 13.0 hz60
Could You please recommend replacement motor or is this still available? I believe motor is burned, & Is this item I can reinstall immediately without affecting wiring, Volts etc. May I please have availability, pricing with shipping & handling. Thank You very much. M. Gonzalez
This is a real easy one that we deal with on a regular basis. You need the 116765 motor
. The link gives you price. The item is in stock right here in our warehouse and ready to ship immediately. Depending on the age of the vacuum you want to familiarize yourself with this PDF of wiring the motor
. Otherwise, you will be fine and we are here to help you.
Breaker Pops with Vacuum Turns On.
Hello, we have a built-in Electrolux Model 1590 and it was installed sometime in 2004. It used to work, but now when we plug the nozzle into the wall receptical the unit blows the breaker. Any idea as to why this could be?
Thanks, N. LeBlanc
Typically that is because the motor is bad and it's initial draw is too great, thus popping the breaker. If the breaker is 15 amp this is really possible.
Electrolux E130A Motor and Board
Need replacement motor for my Electrolux Central Vacuum Model E130A. Motor label reads: 6600-1, ECV B-9, 120VAC, 60Hz and has a tapered bottom and 2-stage tangential discharge. My central vac system has the electrical super valves (inlets) and the circuit board with the low voltage connections. The circuit board has the same components, electrical connectors (flat brass flag tabs), and layout as the P/N 235S circuit board displayed on this web site.
Electrolux Motor and Board Diagram?
Do you have a diagram for this?
Yes, here is a wiring diagram for our circuit board http://builtinvacuum.com/retail/shopretail.php?part_no=235S
. What is not on the diagram is the yellow wires on the new circuit board need to be ignored. If you have wires connecting near the filter/motor you'll have to give these up (it is only a filter-in status). Good news is you save a lot of money with our generic board.
Electrolux 1590 Motor
I have Electrolux Central Vacuum Model 1590.
The number on my motor is 6766-07 LAMB. Height 8 3/8", blower housing 5 11/16", mounting bolt length 3 1/16".
Will your motor #116765 replace my motor?
Yes, this is the motor you need.
Leaking Motor Gasket?
Will a damaged or partially missing gasket cause low suction (i.e. is the motor pulling air from the outside rather than through the filter?) I have low suction at all outlets but the exit port (outside) seems to be blowing pretty strong. I found a piece of gasket (assume it is the motor gasket) inside the plastic piece which the filter slides over. My unit is the Electrolux Model 1590.
Yes, that could be a problem. Be sure to go through the troubleshooting guide
to eliminate other possibilities.
Electrolux (Centralux) E 130A Circuit Board
I have an Electrolux (Centralux) E 130A and the motor kept running once disconnected in the wall outlet in the house. The the circuit breaker on the circuit board did not trip but the motor burned out. I changed the motor and the vacuum still does not work. The next step I want to perform is to change the board. Will this board work on the E 130A? If so, any other suggestions/ changes to make? Jim
Yes, this is the board you want. Also, ignore the yellow wires, don't connect them to filter/motor connection if you had them on your last one. To save money using this board you'll have to forego the filter-in status.
Electrolux Wiring Under Motor Near Filter? Filter-in Status?
Could you be more specific regarding which wires under the motor connected to a sensor you are referring? When you say bypass, does that mean connect together or no connection at all? I replaced the motor and don't recall any wires connected under the motor. The only wires are the two connections supplying 115vac. Thanks Dan
Some E130A models had two low voltage wires running up under the motor and some may not have. Our board has input for the wires from the 110 volts and then it has two wires for the low voltage output which you should ignore. If you hook them up to the filter-in status near the filter then the vacuum will always stay on. The benefit of our #235S board is a huge cost savings, you just have to forego the filter-in status.
Electrolux E130A Cuts Out, Trips Circuit Breaker
I have an Electrolux E130A and the motor keeps cutting out and tripping the circuit breaker on the control board. Changed the motor and same problem. I want to change the board. Will this board work on the E130A? If so, any changes to make?
Yes, this circuit board will work for your E130A but the wires connected to the sensor under the motor will have to be bypassed. No biggie, just make sure to empty your vacuum regularly because I think it was an automatic kill if your unit filled all the way up. (If you buy from MD with your email address we send you reminders to empty your unit every 4 months).
