Proprietary Vacuflo Inlet (found on some Vacuflo, DirtDevil & Royal central vacuum systems).
If your valve looks anything like the valve pictured to the left, then you have a proprietary Vacuflo inlet (some have 4940 printed on them). It is a low voltage valve and never has 110 volts even though there are two metal numbs on the hose end. The holes and numbs are for a low voltage connection from the proprietary low voltage hose (not available here). The numbs or prongs on the hose end are 1/2 inch apart whereas all 110 volt inlet prong holes are 3/8 inch apart.

If you have these inlet valves. The Low Voltage Hose and complete Deluxe Kits and all Electric Kits sold here will NOT FIT into them.

Why Replace Proprietary Inlets? The main reason to upgrade to universal inlets is for the addition of an electric kit for deep, quiet carpet grooming. Buy any electric kit with the pigtail "8ft cord" wall end. Simply plug the hose into the new universal inlet and plug the integrated cord into a nearby electrical outlet. Your new hose will control the electric brush and suction with its 3-way on/off hose handle switch.

Replacing Proprietary Inlets with Industry Standard Inlets. The proprietary inlets can be easily swapped using a Vacuflo Adapter Inlet Upgrade Kit and any Basic Inlet Valve. The cost is minimal and worth every penny. The adapter and inlets are sold below.
