The following are differences in standard low voltage mounting plates.

Standard Plastic Plate Installation Parts	Standard Metal Plate Installation Parts	Short Tight Plate Installation Parts

The photos below show the differences in space between the plate and pipe. (The far right "Short Tight 90" and special mounting plate are used inside walls not deep enough for the standard Tight 90. The plastic moulded screw tap on top is cut in half to allow the pipe to be so close.)
