Lamb Ametek vacuum motors are used in 99.9% of all central vacuums and in many blower motor products.
Here's HOW TO REPLACE your central vacuum motor: First - turn circuit breaker off or unplug your vacuum! Then - loosen or remove the 2 or 3 screws holding the motor in place and disconnect the 2 or 3 wires. Replace with new motor and wires. New wires come attached to all motors. You can cross reference central vacuum motors by using a 4 or 6 digit motor number, if available (many older vacuum motors had lots of numbers none of which are the actual number). Use "More Brands" to the left to find a vacuum motor for your specific vacuum models. Less Popular Lamb Motors.

Central vacuum motors on this website are either original replacement motors or upgrades to older and sometimes discontinued units. We sell motors ending in -00 unless otherwise noted. A -13 means a motor has an epoxy coating only needed for vacuums that involve water pick up. A -07 means the wire leads have some type of terminal end, but that doesn't matter since replacing the motor involves stripping the wire for other ends as needed or wiring nutting to the existing wire (recommended). All vacuum motors are brand new and complete as pictured. The measurement 7.2" & 5.7" is the diameter of widest circular section of the motor. Replacement Vacuum Motor Brushes are sold individually and each motor uses two. Occasionally only a single brush may need replacing because it has only about 3/16" of carbon left. Replacing brushes that have worn all the way down and scored the armature will wear down fast and be of little benefit. Also, once a motor has run for its life expectancy of about 800-900 hours it is best to replace the motor, not the brushes. Note that 120 and 240 volt brushes are not interchangeable. There is too much dust coming out of cyclonic systems and it will clog the filter and damage the motor. The Centra Exhaust Filter attaches to a central vacuum fitting such as a coupling or 90-degree elbow (something with 2 3/16 inch outer diameter). Can be used in either direction. Wide side: inner diameter is 2", outer is 2-1/4". Narrow side: inner diameter is 1-7/8" and outer is 2-1/8". Central vacuum pipe fits into it to extent the exhaust. Central vacuum tubing is thin wall PVC, not SCH40. But SCH40 can be used, the 1.5" ID has a 2" OD that fits into the coupling like vacuum pipe does. SCH40 is three times thicker so the exhaust might be constricted a little, but with no adverse affects.
