110 or 220 or Both?

need to replace top motor on Broan model cv 40. you are specing a 220/240 motor. I am quite sure the original is 220/120. Not an electritian. Brian, Woodstock, VT

Answer:
Your unit is running just over 100 volts or just over 200 volts, it can't run both. Use the correct motors accordingly. One way to tell if your unit is the just over 100 volts is by the plug in cord end. If it is a 'normal' looking 3 prong cord with the two slats vertical and the one roundish pin then it is the 110/120 version.
