What motors it replaces: 116471 and 116336

When to replace: The signs that a 119413 Lamb motor needs to be replaced include: mini breaker popping, electrical smell, excessive blue sparks seen from motor top, you only hear a click, motor shuts down on its own but works later, or its life of 900-1,200 hours has been used up. (If you don't hear a click, then your relay most likely needs to be replaced and your motor may be fine). Five percent of the time, the mini breaker will go bad as well as the motor. If this happens, replace the motor and then evaluate the mini breaker.

How to replace: It is not difficult to replace the 119413 Ametek motor. There are three to four screw brackets and a couple of wires. All of our customers are amazed at how easy it is. NOTE: There is no core trade-in. Used motors are thrown away or taken to a metal recycling center. Click here to read and print out our step-by-step motor replacement instructions. Note that if the unit bolts into metal brackets, then the ground wire can be snipped. If plastic, then attach the ground wire to the ground from the power cord or anywhere to metal on the unit.

Replacing motor brushes: The lamb 119413 vacuum motor has carbon motor brushes that can be replaced. This should be done before a motor is "on its last legs." Read more about changing the motor brush on the detailed motor brush how-to page. If you are ready to replace your motor brushes, here is a link to the 119413 motor brush. You will need to buy two.

Our 33-year-old Modern Day has been limping along on one motor, and we didn't even know it. We thought something was stuck in the pipes until we visited this site. We bought two motors (recommended), and it runs as if it's new! We also switched out the old filters. So reasonable, too!

I took a chance on this motor and did not find any noteworthy problem areas. We have a two motor system and I replaced only 1 bad motor. After installing the motor my now happy wife said the vacuum works better than it ever has and that's all that matters to me. As far as MD Mfg. - they're as good as you could expect from a company playing in the vacuum machine industry, one that sucks!

This motor was ordered to replace a 37 year old motor that trips the mini breaker every time it runs. Installation was quite easy except the ends of the black wire that came with the motor were too small that wouldn't fit the motor nor the mini breaker. I had to use the oven wire to complete the job. That's why I deduct one star on the rating.

Replaced a 20 year old central vacuum motor (2nd motor still working) and the recommended gasket. The switch was also damaged, so replaced that as well, and ordered a few extra bags. Everything came quickly and as ordered. I was happy the gasket was recommended, since I would have missed that. Being able to use Amazon Pay (first time for that) was a great option. As far as prices, a service visit from the local shop would cost as much as the all the parts, so I'm ahead on cost. The repair took a leisurely 2-hours with initial trouble shooting, cleaning, ordering, and install of new parts. No problems ordering from WD Manufacturing and would do it again.
