Vacumaid P125 Screen Cleaning

i replaced the motor on my p125 with a lamb 11534. The top screen seems to clog much faster than before. very little of the debris falls to the bottom. Is there anything I can do to increase the interval between screen cleanings. Will cleaning the plastic cone do anything to increase the cyclonic action? tks Laurel-Buffalo

Answer:
Your unit is cyclonic and most did not have any other type of filter other than that screen. If your model did not come with the foam filter option, then there really isn't much you can do other than continuously clean the screen. Cleaning the plastic cone at the bottom will not affect the cyclonic action of the unit.

Central Vac International Model CV-11 Bag Cleanable?

Central Vac International Model CV-11, can I immerse the bag/filter that is inside the canister in water to clean it? Someone above asked about the replacement cloth bag that I am talking about, it's the bag type thing that is inside the canister where the dirt ends up. Mine is probly over 30 years old and really dirty, the old owner never cleaned it.

Answer:
The cloth bag can be removed and cleaned. Use warm water and a mild detergent, just be sure it is completely dry before putting back in the system.

Replace Pop-out Inlets

Hello, I have an old system powered by Central Vac. The inlets have push button switches under the covers that turn on the unit when they open. Where can I get more of these type of inlets or what should I do to replace broken inlets of this type. do you have them? thanks alot for your time. chuck shotwell Chicago

Answer:
Hi, the button pops out by itself and stays out keeping the suction on, right? There are two screws - on at the top and one at the bottom about 4 inches apart. If this is the case then you can replace the inlets with the fullface basic inlets. If the original ones used a 1/4 inch wide bolt you will have to buy tapered end ones from the hardware store instead of the bubble end ones used. Here are the basic inlets https://builtinvacuum.com/inlets/basic.html.

CV-150 Central Vac

My motor burned out after more than 30 years of use! What do I get to replace: Central Vac International, Inc. CV-150-L-10, 13 W. When we remodeled 10 years ago, the pipes were revised, and the switching mechanism changed to the kind that powers on when the tube is plugged into the wall, rather than by push buttons. The push button at the motor was removed. I don't know if this would influence what motor to use to replace this one. Earl Palmer, Lake Oswego, OR

Answer:
Hi Earl, whatever motor you need it will work with the switching as you have it. To find the right motor you can match it to one of these, call us when you are with the motor, or send us a digital photo. https://builtinvacuum.com/help/centralvacint/motor.html

Is this feature available in the electric powermate for the my central vac system. How does your system compare with a Beam? Please e-mail me asap I am anxious to purchase. Heidi Arendt

The Hayden kit is powerful, you are correct. They did away with the beater bar but it still has wonderful cleaning action, there was not too much of a compromise. Any of the Hayden Kits (same as PowerMate) will fit into your Central Vac International system without any modifications. Enjoy!
