Pet Hair Vacuum Solution

We have a power head that isn't working on our carpet. We have a dog and two cats and the Nutone isn't picking up any pet fur. We had a technician come service our unit thinking we didn't have enough suction and there was a clog and we were told it was our power brush that was the problem. The only way we can get the fur vacuumed up from the carpet is to do it with an upholstery brush!! Will the Stealth pick up the fur like a regular vacuum should? Thanks so much for your time.

Pet hair, it's length, the carpet it's laying on, the bristles on the roller brush, all make a different cleaning dynamic in each home. The Stealth brush and kit are one of the best, if not the best for all situations. It is what all of us use at MD who have indoor dogs. The kit will fit right into your system. If the hose to wall connection is a little tight on the older Nutone we have a simple fix for that - just scrape a bit of plastic off the hose end. Please give the Stealth Kit a test drive.

Refurbished Available?

Do you sell refurbished Stealth Kits? If you do, will it be guaranteed to fit?

Replace Wands

I have a Stealth head and the plastic cord holder at the top of the metal tube where the hose handle plugs into is broke. Can I just get the top metal tube assembly with the plastic piece? I did not see it on the web site anywhere.

Hi, the upper wand is here You can also replace the upper and lower with a telescoping wand for more convenient height adjustments here

Replacement for Home With Pets

Please help. Have VERY antique in-house center vacuum, with Eureka Co. motorized nozzle model 1240 F, type and serial 1679045. Need replacement 30' hose as well. Please advise what is compatible and most efficient for an active home with loving, shedding dog. Your help is greatly appreciated. Carol

We have found that our 12" Stealth brush work great with pet hair. The slightly smaller brush width gives better air movement for the fine pet hair. This brush is offered as a complete kit with the hose in 30 or 35 foot length. The wall connection of the hose fits any wall inlet with an inner diameter of 1.5". A quick measurement will tell you if the hose will fit or need an adapter.

Replacement Stealth Wand

I have the stealth beater head which is working fine and my hose is fine. I just need to replace the telescopic wand with the plug. Do you sell that separately?

Service Question: Not Suctioning

It has worked well for years. Now it is shooting dust out from the front of the Power Brush. What do I do?

If the suction in your vacuum system is not working (even though it may sound like it because the Stealth is spinning) then the Stealth will continue to fill itself full of debris. Try putting the switch to the II position without the Stealth connected to be sure the suction works (the switch may be broken on the II position or something else is wrong). If it does start then something in the hose or Stealth is clogged. Take the metal wands out of the Stealth. Look down the wands for obstructions. Bend the neck down and look into the Stealth, you should see all the way to the black brush roll. Remove any clogs you find.

Service Question: Opening the Stealth

I have a Lindhaus Mod # PB14. I am not getting power to the brush. I have found the replacement motor, but can not get the head open even after removing 9 screws. it hanges up on the pedal that allows the pipe to come down. Help Please

You are very close. It will slip over the foot release. Give it some force. It will not break.

Service Question: Stealth Clogged?

I have a Stealth Mod. PB14e, new in 2004. It used to have very strong suction (the red light would come on at a height level about midway on the dial.) One day, after my housecleaner used the unit, the height adjusment seemed too easy, the suction much less, and the only time the red light comes on is when I raise the wand to the upright, locked position. Is my unit broken, and if so, where can I get it repaired? At $300, I hope I don't have to replace it. Thanks for your help.

If the brush is ran without any air then it fills itself with the debris. It is common to think the air is moving because you hear the Stealth and the air sound is less loud, but actually there may not be suction. Sometimes the switch works on the left side but not on the right for suction. Disconnect from the wands and check the hose alone to see if the suction is working. Turn the Stealth over and remove the metal extension tubes. Look in the neck and down its throat. Remove all the debris. Let us know how it goes.

Service Question: Stealth Stops Going Backward

When I use my vaccum, Stealth next generation, it stops when I am on carpet. I seems like the belt is slipping, what should I do? When I push it forward it works and when I pull back it kind of stops?

Do the lights on the Stealth turn off when it turns off? If so then the connection up at the handle is sloppy or the wires going into the neck are getting loose. You can try to figure it out or call in for help or call in for a return authorization so we can take a look at it for you.

Service Question: Troubleshooting Stealth Power Nozzle

I have a Lindhaus power head with a silent master unit. The Lindhaus head will will not start. It was working fine, then simply quit. Suction is fine and no problem with the Silentmaster itself. The power head simply will not turn on. How do I fix the problem. The Lindhaus is about 12 years old and has worked flawlessly .

You are correct in that Stealth Power Brush Vacuum Cleaner is an awesome product with years and years of trouble free service. Please take a look at our guide for Stealth fixes. It is a Word document here. If you have more questions please let us know.

Shag Type Carpet

We have a Broan central vac model cv315 we have to replace the power head, it sounds like the stealth power brush will work. But we have the newer shag type carpet its proably medium length, in one of your reviews it says it doesnt work real good on that type of carpet.I dont want to spend that kind of money if it is not going to work well. Thanks, Cherie Wyalusing PA

Hello Cherie, the Stealth is not great for carpets with blunt cut strans (not looped) that are over one inch tall. We recommend our Ace Power Brush Kit.

Star Replacement Compatibility

R. Lanker, Ocala, FL I have a Star Power System Central Vacuum. I need to replace the Power Head unit, and I noticed you recommended the Stealth power brush as a replacement. Can I be assured that the Stealth is compatible with my Star System Power Head?

Replacing your vacuum head with the Stealth is a great idea but will not fit your hose handle. There is a cord coming up from the vacuum. Does it attach to a plastic holder at the top of the metal tubes? If not then the Eureka/Beam is a great replacement here

Stealth Hose Needed

I need a new 30' hose but need to know which one I need. I have a Lindhaus Power nozzle Model PB 12" E. The hose I have now I have to plug a cord into a 110 volt outlet and the other end has a small 2 pin plug that connects into the hose at the wall outlet end. The nozzle end has a 2 pin female plug that the power brush plugs into. The vacuum system starts up when you insert the vacuum end into the wall. I also have a switch on the handle that shuts the power brush beater on & off. The system is at least 10 years old. Please advise. Thank You

That is the power nozzle MD exclusively sells and is known as "Stealth". You have an older style hose. This newer one fits all Stealths and turns off the air as well as the electricity. The perfect replacement for hoses with a cord that plugs into an electrical wall oulet as well as the vacuum inlet is a,353GC. If your electric hose has two pins that plug directly into an electrified 110 volt vacuum inlet then you need a,353GC. That's it!

Stealth Not Picking Up Debris

I have a flo-master. Worked fine, now when the power head and brush is on, it sucks and then it leaves balls of hair all over the floor. The hose it self sucks like a big dog. But when the brush unit is attached (stealth)vacuums less than ok, but leaves balls of hair. Cleaned unit. still leaves balls. Whats happening..... please help....

There is most likely a clog in the brush or the wand you are using. The air flow is good in the rest of the unit, so something is blocking air flow with the brush attached.

Stealth on Wood?

We have an even mix of hardwood floors, area rugs, and wall-wall carpeting in our house. Can the stealth be used to clean all of these types of floors?

With a central vacuum system you would want to use one set of tools for the carpets and another for the hard floors. Yes, you can turn the roller brush off on the Stealth and use the suction on the hard floors, but you are better off using a horse hair hard floor brush to get better cleaning.

Stealth Replacement Wand

Hi, I have the Stealth Lindhaus Mod-pb14e and need to replace the silver wand, do you sell replacements and if so, where could I purchase one? Thanks.

We do carry the replacement wands. You can find them here,

Stealth Wand

I have a Stelth Beater Bar model # PB 14" E serial number 105652. I need to replace the wand which has an enlarged (worn) hole at the top for the button lock. Are these available? Thank you, Don

Taking Stealth Apart

How do you breakdown a Lindhaus PB-12 beaterbar?

Hi, if you want to get to the roller brush then only remove the four exposed screws on the under side. To access the motor, belt, etc. then remove the recessed screws and lift off the top of the brush. Lift the foot lever a bit to get the cover off.

Tech Videos for Stealth

I am not sure, but I suspect my motor went out on my stealth ... I was vacuuming a thick shag rug and the brush got bogged down and stopped spinning. While I still have suction, the brush motor has stopped. Should I replace the motor ($199.00) or just buy a new stealth floor piece altogether? Or could it be something less complicated and costly causing my problem?

Actually, take a look at our tech videos on the Stealth here Using them you will figure out what is wrong. Our generous warranty for the Stealth may help you out as well.

TP210 Turbocat Upgrade?

We have an 8yr old Vacu Flo system with a ultra TP210 air driven brush, it strains to rotate brushes, how could I improve system??

First, are you cleaning the screen up inside the VacuFlo just under the motor? If that clogs up you will have less suction. Check it please. With it clean or not you should consider the upgrade to Stealth. Stealth is not air driven but electric driven. The power is always there for grooming. It is also tremendously quieter. Also the debris doesn't go through a turbine, it flows right through into the hose. Want to try the Stealth Kit? You will need the entire Stealth Kit because the hose needs 110 volts. That means you'd buy a 'corded' Stealth Kit. Wires hide in the hose but the wall end of the hose has an 8ft pigtail electrical cord you plug into a nearby electrical outlet. The hose will fit your inlets and if you have the "VacuFlo" inlets you may not be able to turn the suction on/off unless without unplugging the hose from the inlet and closeing it. You can buy our Vacuflo Adaptor and new inlets (very easy to install, about $20/inlet) if you wanted to upgrade them to standard ones. Everything you need to know is here

Ultra-Air-Care Upgrade?

We have an Ultra-aircare central vac system. The power brush we curently have is worn out. Can I replace it with the Stealth power brush? Are they compatable? Thanks, Nick

Typically not because the hose-to-wand connection is different. We suggest sending a photo of that connection or buying a complete kit. The hose in any of our new electric kits will fit directly into your wall ports.

Vacu-Maid Upgrade Part?

we have a vacu-maid S1200. will the stealth work with my unit? Thanks,Susan

Hello Susan, the Stealth is an excellent upgrade to your Vacu-Maid system. You would most likely have to buy the entire Stealth Kit, though. It includes the hose that fits the Stealth and your wall valves. If you want to see if your electric hose will fit the Stealth then the hose handle needs to match the handle to nipple on stub tube measurement on the photo on this webpage:

VacuMaid CT14 and Hose Vacuum Replacement?

I want to replace my Vacu-Maid carpet sweeper. Model#CT14? and also get a new hose. The system in the garage says Vacu-Maid. I don't see any other information on the equipment I have. What would you suggest?

Having to replace the head and hose means you should get a new complete kit. Everything will fit your system and work together perfectly. The Stealth Kit is simply awesome, take a look at it here

X-LNT Service: No Power?

Hi, I can't get power to the Stealth PB14 head. I have replaced the hose handle and enclosed wiring switch, also checked all connections to the head. Suction comes on, but no lights, no power.....any ideas?? Thx. Roger

Hi Roger, is your hose direct connect at the wall end or pigtail corded? If direct connect then put the black Stealth cord directly into the vacuum port and tilt the neck down. If it works then the issue is probably the direct connect prongs on the hose wall end. There is a molded fuse hidden in there. Replace the piece with #352CP. If you don't have direct connect then is probably the cord. It too has the fuse molded in. Replace it with #352CO. You can do continuity tests to be sure if you have the tools.

X-LNT Service: Lights On but No Spinning Action

I'm having a problem with my Stealth. The unit is just over 3 years old. When plugged into the hose AND directly into the vacuum wall inlet the red and green lights illuminate and the motor runs for no more than 1 to 2 seconds. Then the green light and the motor turn off, but the red light remains lit. Can you advise me as to what replacement part I need?

You simply need to clean out the rollor brush where is connects to bearing (non belt side). Undo the several screws to pull up the roller brush side opposite the belt side. You do not need to completely remove the roller brush to make this simple service. Slip off the bearing and you will some hair and threads compacted there. Remove, replace, and vacuum!
