Inlet Cover Hole A Bit To Large For Hose Comes Loose At Times
(MD Notes: We learned after the fact that the customer owns a proprietary Nutone inlet, which will require a Nutone inlet replacement #653NW. We reached out to the customer offering to issue a refund for the incorrect inlet as well as the details of the correct inlet option.)
The quality of the inlet valve is good BUT the finish of the hinge end is poor and so these units must be installed hinge down or the unsightly hinge will be visible. The 180 degree full faceplate opening means that the hinge spring, with the unfinished melted plastic to hold it in place is visible if the unit is installed with the hinge up. This was my only disappointment and the fact that one end is unfinished should be disclosed or the finish on both ends should be improved.
When mounted hinge up a small but unsightly gap around the hinge/spring is visable; really can only be mounted hinge down. In that configuration cover does not close completely---stronger spring needed, maybe? As always, customer service the greatest!
The part didn't match the picture. Note in your picture, there is a rectangular hole above the main circular outlet. I needed that hole to plug my high-voltage modular plug into. The parts that arrived didn't have that hole. On the other hand, your customer service rep was very nice-said she'd credit me a return and I didn't even have to ship back the parts (so I threw them away). On the other, other hand, I haven't seen the credit yet. I've been charged $29.61, but no credit. (CVO'S NOTE: You needed the SuperValves not the Basic Inlet Valve.)
Replaced older filtex inlets. Did require tape for good seal. Screws supplied were not the same size as original screws and therefore had to buy new smaller quicknuts to allow replacement with smaller diameter screws which I did not expect and caused some delay in completing the project.
I'm upgrading my existing vacuum set up -- if you have on older system this will take a bit of figuring. Nice clean lines.
